The Ridgeland Branch NAACP express our sincere condolences to the St. Helena Island families of those who lost a loved one during the tragic attack on Saturday October 11, 2025. It is of great significance that we continue to address laws on gun violence and stress the importance of denouncing gun violence. We pray for healing for those who were injured and for those who are experiencing any type of mental anxiety as result of this tragic situation. We call on our elected officials to review and repeal laws that provide easy access to weapons of any type. Our democracy is challenged at every end but the people in our communities must reconnect to create save spaces for all citizens. The Ridgeland Branch NAACP meets the third Saturday of each month at 5:00 pm. Let’s continue to work together to strengthen our communities.
